I am interested in evolution of flora in extreme conditions such as alpine and arctic biotopes. I combine knowledge of local flora and its ecology with cytology and genetics to get deeper view into evolutional, dispersal and functional features of the flora.
During my bachelor study, I participated on a project focused on presence of apomixis in Himalayas. My master thesis was focused on phylogeny of Cyperaceae and Juncaceae. My recent PhD project is focused on Arctic large-scale phylogeography and population genetics of Svalbard flora with emphasis on comparison between diversity hot-spots and poorer populations.
