Phylogenomics Workshop in Urwitałt: Cooperation between V4 countries on the research of cryptic fungi

From December 8–11, 2025, workshop on phylogenomics was held in Urwitałt as part of the C4inV4: courses to improve collaboration in V4 countries to learn about cryptic fungi.

A huge thank you to Anna Karnkowska and Beniamin Abramczyk for leading the workshops; Danny Haelewaters and Anna Muszewska for their inspiring open lectures; and Marta Tischer, Michał Gorczak, Michał Kochanowski, Igor Siedlecki, and Dorota Wiktorowicz for their invaluable organizational support. We are also grateful to the Kumak Biodiversity Center for hosting us and the Visegrad Fund for funding this initiative.

It was a fantastic team effort, and we learned a great deal. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next workshop in Szeged Hungary!
