Researchers from the University of South Bohemia at SETAC Europe 2025 in Vienna

In the second week of May, several scientists from different faculties of the University of South Bohemia attended the international SETAC Europe 2025 conference held in Vienna. The event, titled "Innovation for Tomorrow: Progress in Safe and Sustainable Concepts", focused on innovative approaches to the safe and sustainable design of chemicals, materials, and systems.

The conference addressed pressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution. A key theme was Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD)—an approach that integrates environmental, health, social, and economic aspects into the development of new solutions. Opportunities for using artificial intelligence in biodiversity protection and integrated methods for chemical risk assessment were also widely discussed.

Participation in this prestigious event supported international collaboration and brought valuable insights for ongoing research and teaching in sustainability and environmental sciences.
