Although at first glance nothing significant has changed in the former building of the Science and Technology Park in Na Zlaté stoce Street, inside it is unrecognizable. During the last year, it received a brand new interior. The layout of the rooms on all floors has been changed to suit the needs of IT teaching. The building will now be used mainly for IT students and experts.
In addition to new walls, floors, and ceilings, the USB also invested in complete electrical, water, and HVAC systems.
Workers from SWIETELSKY stavební s.r.o., which was the main contractor, began transforming the interior of the building in January 2025. They had a year to do the work and managed to finish everything a month ahead of schedule. The work was finished at the beginning of December 2025, and now it is waiting for approval. The transformation of the interior of the building, which USB has newly marked with the letter I, cost CZK 24 million. More than half of this amount was covered by the university from a call of the Ministry of Education and Science (ERDF for HEIs - quality).
The entire Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science, USB, is looking forward to the new facilities, which will occupy the ground floor and the first floor of the building. Students should start using the new premises from the summer semester.
