We invite students and public for weekend botany excursions
After a hot and dry summer, autumn is coming, which will hopefully be a little wetter and will bring new water into the vessels of dried-up vascular plants, onto the leaves of bryophytes and into the fruiting bodies of mushrooms. And you can admire all these organisms with us on traditional botanical excursions. Don't hesitate and join us!

Saturday 3 October – The flora of the exposed bottom of Kačležský pond
Departure by bus at 7:16 from the bus station in České Budějovice (platform 23) to Jindřichův Hradec, nábřeží (8:34), where the excursion leader will join, here change to the bus at 8:44 to Kačlehy (8:57) (https://tinyurl.com/kaclez26tam). From Kačlehy we will go to Kačležský pond, where we will focus mainly on the flora and vegetation of the exposed pond bottom. Depending on the current water level, we will pass the most interesting accessible parts of the bottom and banks and then continue over the dam and through the forest to Hejlíček. Total length of the route approx. 8–10 km. Return by bus from Horní Pěna, Hejlíček at 16:32 to Jindřichův Hradec, bus. station (16:50), from the train station at 16:59 to České Budějovice (17:55) (https://tinyurl.com/kaclez26zpet). With the shorter option, it is possible to leave Hejlíček as early as 14:32 (České Budějovice 15:55).

Saturday 10 October – To the valley of the Černá river
Departure by bus to Kaplice from the bus station in České Budějovice (platform 29) at 7:35 to the Kaplice – ENGEL stop (8:19). Via Blansko to the Černá River Valley, via Mlýn U Dubu to Soběnov, intended route on mapy.com. From Soběnov 17:13 by bus with a transfer in Kaplice, in ČB 18:22. Take sausages and magnifying glass with you.

Sunday 11 October – Mycological excursion around Velká Turná in the Blatná region
Departure by train from České Budějovice at 8:04 (direction Plzeň), change in Strakonice to the train at 9:13 to the Velká Turná stop (direction Blatná). We will go to the Na Větrově hill, where there should be fir woods, potentially hosting an interesting diversity of mushrooms, then along the yellow trail around the Babák pond and back to Velká Turná. Total route: 7–8 km. Departure from Velká Turná by train depending on the weather and mood at 16:30, 17:25 or 18:26.

Saturday 17 October – What grows on the shore of Bezdrev pond?
Departure by train at 8:51 to Hluboká nad Vltavou. From the railway station we will head to the dam of the Bezdrev pond, which is at a low level this year. Along the banks and on the exposed bottom around the campsite towards the village of Zálužice, where we will try to find Gnaphalium luteoalbum, and further to Zliv. If there is enough time, we can also explore the drained Zlivský pond.

Sunday 18 October – Mapping invasive plants near Vyšší Brod
Departure by train at 8:05 to Herbertov (direction Horní Dvořiště, change in Rybník, arrival in Herbertov at 9:21). We will go upstream of the Větší Vltavice, and the Mlýnecký stream and then through the valley of the Studánecký stream and finally we will go to Vyšší Brod. In addition to mapping invasions, we will of course also show all other interesting plants. Back from Vyšší Brod probably by train at 17:30 (arrival in ČB at 18:56).

- The excursion will take place as part of a cross-border project focused on protecting plant diversity in the border region of South Bohemia and Upper Austria (Interreg ATCZ00182 Cross-border plants CZ-AT), which will be presented during the excursion.
Saturday 24 October – The mosses of the Blanský les
Departure by bus at 8:10 from the bus station (platform 5) to the Brloh, Kuklov stop. Then we will go to the ruins of the Kuglvajt castle and walk through Mala Skála and Ptačí stěna to Nová Hospoda. Return by bus from the Ktiš, Březovík stop with a change in Český Krumlov and arrival in ČB at 18:25.

Saturday 28 November – Around the ponds and a fortress behind Haklovy Dvory to the Kněžínek brewery
Late autumn or winter walk. Departure by public transport, bus no. 1 at 9:46 from the train station, or 9:55 from Výstaviště to the terminus in Haklovy Dvory. Return from Haklovy Dvory again, depending on the weather and mood.
