The Faculty of Science at the University of South Bohemia presented an interactive exhibit packed with experiments and visually striking demonstrations at the Science Fair (Veletrh vědy). Visitors had the opportunity to peek into the world of chemistry and modern technology, experiencing science firsthand.
Chemistry – Crystals and Spectacular Experiments
The crystal presentation drew great interest. Visitors could examine protein and inorganic crystals under a microscope and learn about the differences between them. The programme also featured a series of spectacular chemical experiments that showcased chemistry in its most attractive and impressive form.
Teacher Training – Sensors and Thermal Imaging
Another part of the exhibition demonstrated how modern technology can be used to measure and understand the world around us. Using a solar radiation simulation, visitors explored a model city made of various materials to observe how differently they absorb and radiate heat. The experiment clearly illustrated the importance of urban greenery in reducing temperatures and mitigating the heat island effect.
People could also try out measurements on their own bodies using sensors, discovering how contemporary technology allows us to monitor processes within the human organism.
Thank you to all the visitors who stopped by our booth. A huge thank you also goes out to our colleagues and students who helped prepare and run the entire event.
