Polar and alpine research conference 2026

Polar and alpine research conference 2026 will be organised by Centre for Polar Ecology, University of South Bohemia, České Budějovice, Czechia. The conference is intended to promote sharing of knowledge on recent advances in polar science of both Arctic and Antarctic. We would like to support enhanced networking especially among students and early career researchers. For that reason, the conference is free of charge.

The conference will be held in the lecture room of Centre for Polar Ecology (Na Zlaté stoce 3, České Budějovice) on 17 – 18 september 2026.

You can find the conference programme here and abstract book here.

Keynote lectures will be given by Stanislava Bezdíček Králová (From Frozen Dirt to Fancy Molecules) and Iwo Wieczorek (Glacial lakes could be a future of Arctic landscape).

We are looking forward to seeing you at the conference!
