Prof. Müller participated in the development of treatment of a rare genetic disease

Professor Norbert Müller, member of the Department of Chemistry, played a key role in an international research team that published a groundbreaking study in the prestigious journal JCI Insight. The study focused on ancestry-related immune differences in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a rare genetic autoimmune disease.

Using cutting-edge multiomic approaches, the researchers discovered that genetic and epigenetic factors linked to ancestry significantly influence disease activity and severity. These findings pave the way for personalized medicine, offering tailored treatments based on individual biological profiles.

We congratulate the entire research team on achieving important insights that advance the frontiers of medical research.
