On Friday, 25 September 2026, the Faculty of Science of the University of South Bohemia came alive with the traditional Science Night event. This year's nationwide theme, Communication, attracted more than 800 visitors of all ages to the faculty throughout the evening.
The theme was presented by the faculty's students and academic staff through a variety of interactive exhibits, demonstrations, workshops and lectures.
The event was officially opened with a dance performance by the South Bohemian Theatre Ballet, offering visitors a unique connection between art, movement and communication and setting the tone for the evening's programme.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore the worlds of chemistry, physics, biology and computer science. Great interest was shown in activities focused on chemical communication, physics experiments, secret message encryption, bird communication, and the ways plants, insects and subterranean mammals communicate. The popular Chemistry Bar and a range of interactive activities for children were also among the highlights of the programme.
We would like to thank all visitors for their interest in science, as well as all presenters and volunteers who contributed to the preparation and delivery of the programme.
