Summer field trips of the Department of Botany

The Department of Botany organizes several field courses and excursions for students each summer. This year, students explored the flora of Podyjí National Park, learned about the management and monitoring of species and habitats in nature conservation, and took part in a hydrobiological excursion to the Křivoklát region, where they studied freshwater ecosystems and algae. Together with zoologists, we also organize an interdisciplinary excursion to interesting European regions; this summer, the destination was Romania.

Several more excursions are planned before the start of the next semester. Trips to Šumava and the Křivoklát region will take place in September. While most excursions are conducted in Czech, international students are welcome to join the European excursion, and the September excursion to the Křivoklát region is specifically intended for students of the English Master's programme in Ecology.
