Tereza Kozelková Honored with the Zdeněk Veselovský Award

Postdoctoral researcher RNDr. Tereza Kozelková, Ph.D., a graduate of the master's and doctoral study programs in Biochemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, currently working at the Institute of Parasitology, Biological Center of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, was awarded by the Czech and Slovak Ethological Society (Česká a Slovenská etologická společnost). For her research in the field of physiology and molecular biology of ticks, she received the Zdeněk Veselovský Award (Cena Zdeňka Veselovského). Her research brought new knowledge about lipid metabolism in ticks, which she summarized in her dissertation and was published in several prestigious international scientific journals.

The Zdeněk Veselovský Award is awarded to the best first-author scientific paper published in the previous year. The winner is decided by the expert committee of the Czech and Slovak Ethological Society (ČSEtS). The key criteria for the evaluation are primarily the originality of the work, scientific quality and the contribution of the student's research to the development of ethological research.

The scientific activities of RNDr. Tereza Kozelková, Ph.D. were also awarded by the rector of the University of South Bohemia, prof. Ing. Pavel Kozák, Ph.D., who congratulated her at the ceremonial opening of the 2025/2026 academic year. For more information click here.
