Completion Bonuses for Supervisors and Co-Supervisors Following Successful Completion of Doctoral Studies

This Measure sets out the rules for awarding completion bonuses to supervisors and co-supervisors of students enrolled in doctoral study programmes delivered at the Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (hereinafter “FSc USB”), following the successful completion of doctoral studies.

Article I
Completion Bonus for Supervisors

(1) A supervisor of a doctoral student who successfully completes the doctoral study programme within the standard period of study is entitled to a bonus of CZK 30,000.
(2) A supervisor of a doctoral student who successfully completes the doctoral study programme no later than by the end of the standard period of study extended by one year is entitled to a bonus of CZK 15,000.
(3) Entitlement to the completion bonus arises upon the proper completion of the doctoral study programme. Following the successful defence of the dissertation and completion of studies, the supervisor shall submit an application to the Office of the Vice-Dean for Doctoral Studies using the form provided in Annex 1.
(4) The Study Department of FSc USB shall verify that the conditions for awarding the completion bonus have been met.
(5) If the supervisor is an employee of the University of South Bohemia, the completion bonus shall be paid as an extraordinary employee bonus. If the supervisor is not an employee of the University, the completion bonus shall be provided under a contractual arrangement.

Article II
Completion Bonus for Co-supervisor

(1) A co-supervisor (also designated as Consultant in IS STAG) may be awarded a completion bonus for contributing to the academic supervision of the doctoral student.
(2) The Dean shall decide whether to award the completion bonus to the co-supervisor on the basis of a written proposal from the principal supervisor submitted together with the application in Annex 1.
(3) The principal supervisor’s proposal shall briefly describe the co-supervisor’s contribution to the supervision of the doctoral student and state the proposed amount of the bonus.
(4) The method of payment to the co-supervisor shall be governed by Article I(5).

Article III
Final provisions

(1) Annex 1 – Application for supervisor completion bonus following successful completion of doctoral studies – forms an integral part of this Measure.
(2) This Measure shall enter into effect on the date of its issuance.
