PhD students presented their results at an international workshop in Romania

Our doctoral students in biochemistry, Mgr. Lenka Doudová and Mgr. Zuzana Dvorníková from the Department of Chemistry, participated in an international meeting entitled "MC meeting and workshop about applying an interdisciplinary approach for tick and tick-borne pathogen (TBP) risk assessment while implementing the DAMA protocol" which took place on October 2–3, 2025, in Cluj, Romania.

They were invited to the workshop to present the results of their research mission supported by a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) grant under the PRAGMATICK program. During a short presentation, they presented their findings from the project focused on "Production and potential application of Single-Domain Antibodies for the detection of tick-transmitted diseases" presented by Lenka Doudová and "Protein-saccharide interaction of Lyme Borreliosis decorin binding proteins" presented by Zuzana Dvorníková.

The meeting focused on linking different scientific disciplines in assessing the risks associated with ticks and the pathogens they transmit, and on the practical use of the so-called DAMA protocol (Document–Assess–Monitor–Act). The event provided an opportunity to share experiences and deepen international cooperation between researchers across Europe.
